Not to stray too far out of my lane, but Pope Francis, who has been under the weather the past week, has developed double pneumonia. I mention this, because in some Catholic circles, it has been prophesied that Francis will be the final pope.

I don’t like to lean too heavily on non-scriptural prophecies, but God does send his dreams, visions and predictions to people today. The Bible is clear about that, and these messages from God coming in a flurry at the end is actually one of the Signs of the Times we are to watch for.

In 1139, the Irish bishop of Armagh–St. Malachy–had a vision that is pretty well-known. This vision, which reminds me of Nostradamus’ allegedly prophetic writings, consisted of a long list of the popes in history, right up until the final pope, whose end is linked to the Great Tribulations. And by the numbers and interpretations available, that final pope is the man we call Pope Francis. Malachy reported this to his pope, Innocent II, who had it stored at the Vatican, where it sits safe today. And the Catholic Church–at least a portion–takes it very seriously.

Obviously this data sits on the “take note and pay attention” file, like all other non-biblical things. I’ll give St. Malachy the benefit of the doubt, because I give you extra points for being Irish. He could well be a FALSE prophet, of course, but that doesn’t mean the “prophecy” is totally false. Details. I’m quite sure that Lucifer is clear about his own future, for example. If he should want to communicate that fact, and I don’t know why he would do so, he’s got the same scriptures to read and quote as we do. It’s his spin that’s evil. He’s the Father of Lies.
